Dutifully, Reuters reports on the latest IPCC production – this one on: "Managing the risks of extreme events and disasters to advance climate change adaptation".

It tells us that nations "need to act now" on climate change, because increasingly extreme weather is already a trend. The need for action, it is thus asserted, has become more acute as a growing human population puts more people and more assets in the path of disaster, raising economic risk.

Of course the entire UN IPCC report is based on total hubris
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/03/28/a ... from-1974/

I rather see people on BS alert when the IPCC Crooks come up with yet another scheme to shackle humanity.

Totalitarians always strike when people have lost interest.
Just to illustrate the risk, after years of failed attempts to perform a power grab there suddenly was this regime decorating public buildings with Swastika's.

Anyhow, a warm "Foxtrot Oscar" to the UN IPCC and their green traitors..

The new conservative government of Queensland has a novel approach to the regulatory system, whereby the incoming premier, Campbell Newman, is keeping on Greg Withers, the head of the Office of Climate Change, specifically to wind back all the environmental programs he put in place under the former Labor Government (which was, incidentally, headed by Withers' wife).

Of course, even when you demolish stuff, there is always lots of rubble left behind.

An indication that the MSM is losing interest is the absence of reporting on Planet Under Pressure, a 4 day gab fest at the Queen Elizabeth conference centre.

However, we still have this crackpot government he'll bent on implementing economy destroying measures and the US EPA attempting to destroy coal fired power generation.

The MMGW lie still Permeates the whole of the government/EU/bien pensant body politic. At least Osbourne appears to be putting up some resistance.

At least some good news from Queensland and Canada.

Cheers

Paul

The science has gone for this one. Technical and scientific papers being published no longer support the IPCC assumptions. In particular, the satellite temperature feeds have been a millstone around the Global Warming theorist's necks.

However, the political push is still there...

Oh, if only that were true (and if it were true, if only it mattered)

I know I'm adopting Goebbels' dictum here and it must be getting boring BUT the Climate Change Act remains law and will do for the forseeable future.

While it is still law, every other single argument or point or debate about AGW in this country is entirely sterile and a distraction.

That's the problem ... and, as the climate change agenda atrophies, it will reinvent itself under different guises.

So they're still missing the real reason for extreme weather . . . :-)

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/48388811?searchTerm=climate%20change&searchLimits=

Which clearly explains the following from the Rio declaration . . .

"Warfare is inherently destructive of sustainable development. States shall therefore respect international law providing protection for the environment in times of armed conflict"

(PRINCIPLE 24 – Rio declaration)

What appears to be happening is that infrastructure of all kinds, all round the world, is creaking under the strain of increased population and immigration influx, as travel and medicine both improve.

As technology improved, citizens started wanting all sorts of services - water, gas, transport, communication, etc., which work better as monopolies. The welfare state concept meant that governments were providing these services, and it was getting costly. The cost was losing them votes, so they outsourced them. Seemed like a good idea.

Unfortunately the private companies don't want to pay for 100 year long investments. They are looking for any excuse for us to cut back on using these services - and 'climate change' is a beautiful example. It can be used to force you to cut back on anything...
