In the Failygraph today, we see a piece that might by some be considered "sour grapes" over the Indian fighter contract.

A claim has been made by Mysura Reddy, a "leading Indian MP", that government officials manipulated the award of the $20 billion contract, in order to help the Rafale win in the competition against the Eurofighter. Reddy is also concerned by reports Rafales were outperformed by Eurofighters in operations over Libya.

As a result, we are told, in a story that is safely buried in the financial pages so that the paper can get on with real news, Indian defence minister A K Anthony has ordered a review of the evaluation process.

We know the corruption goes on but before we get all pious we have history on this kind of thing too with the BAe affair a few years back, bribes and even a intervention by PM Blair himself.......maybe we need more of that kind of subterfuge

Corruption wherever one cares to look. My own belief is that the overseas aid fund is a thinly disguised corporate slush fund used to "sweeten" foreign governments in order to induce them to look favourably on BritCorps. We now see Banker Casino bills paid by the taxpayer. Why not Corporate slush funds paid by the Tax slaves?

As for corruption: Google "Siemens fines for bribery". It is hardly surprising that Siemens "won" (bought) the train cpntract, that signals the end of Brit train building. Still we are friends in Europe EH?
