The assistant chief executive at Luton Borough Council, we are told, will receive a bumper pay rise in his Christmas stocking after cuts to the authority's corporate directors saw him promoted. Robin Porter's role has been merged with that of the director of customer and corporate services, Steve Heappey, after the council agreed more cuts to senior management.

Securing the new "director of commercial and transformation services" post will see 38-year-old Porter's salary rise from the current £65,000 to £72,000 range to the £111,000 to £122,000 range commanded by the council's existing corporate directors.

Another one to be added to the list for eventual retribution.

I see Robin Porter of Luton is to become "director of commercial and transformation services". This makes me think, for in my local town is a shop called Transformations and it sells clothes for what was once called cross dressing. However, time moves on and now this aspect of life is called gender shift. So simple question, what's going on?

Thanks Richard, that is my blood pressure up another couple of notches, please can we not have some nice fluffy posts seeing as it the season of good will.

The grandaddy of taxpayers waste must go to David Hartnett our own head of HMRC

Quote:
Mr Hartnett, the permanent secretary at HM Revenue and Customs was yesterday heavily criticised by MPs for being “unduly cosy” with big business.

In a damning report, the Public Accounts Committee found that tax officials have not collected up to £25 billion from big businesses.

On top of that, the tax authority was found to have made a series of “sweetheart” deals with major companies, including a decision to waive a £10 million bill for giant US investment bank Goldman Sachs.

The controversy yesterday divided the Coalition, as the Prime Minister backed the taxman and Liberal Democrats expressed their concern at the revelations.

HMRC announced last week that the top tax official will take early retirement next summer with a pension pot of £1.7 million This is likely to pay out around £75,000 to £80,000 a
year, plus a lump sum worth around £160,000.

Chair of the commitee Margeret Hodge has been a big critic, even accusing him of telling lies and being obstuctive by hidng behind the usual "confidentiality" get out, frustrated she asked if him if it was HMRC's duty to "help parliament",to which Hartnett initially replied "I dont' know" PDT_Armataz_01_23

Must keep a copy of this post for my next tax investigator, seems it is one law for the big boys and another for us smaller fry while the head of HMRC himself lives high of the hog by lying to and deceiving Parliament.

This is my first posting for a while as I have spent the past 3 months in Ipswich hospital, being treated for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. The nurses and doctors are an extremely dedicated group of people who work flat out, awkward shifts with long hours. They are also short staffed, but, the management is still recruiting pen-pushers! To top it all, they are charged £28 per month for parking their own cars, how about that!!

Trained, wow, I never knew - and this qualifies her [Tapster] to do what exactly?

Well you learn something everyday, the wonder of jobs for the girls.

I say steady on old chap. :)
Are you seriously suggesting that a mass rapacious greed soaked conscience fee increase in white collar crime could result in an increase in blue collar crime. PDT_Armataz_01_23
An officer and a gentleman simply does not talk about such things. Please leave religion and politics, and facts and analysis out of this blog. It might frighten the horses. PDT_Armataz_01_22

Exposing parasites and wasted tax is a nice clear mission statement which would surely gather up a lot of the uncommitted??

One can almost understand how and why Zanulab created it's client state, being the thick nasty socialist scum they are and how it's recruits then have torn the arse out of the system, to pay themselves fortunes.......but why on earth has the Green Tosser done nothing about it ........That he hasn't, tells us all we need to know about the useless tosser..

Ps what really makes me vomit, is that every one of these thieves thinks they fully deserve all their ill gotten gains, wheras in the real world, they would be hard pressed running a dunny.

I fear, Dave and his lot are basically powerless, these fiefdom Klan chieftains are above Dave's pay grade level.

Most definitely, a law unto themselves and these regional cantons only are answerable to and take orders from Brussels, it was an EU policy design - to circumvent the HMG - we've only just rumbled this master plan - and how well it has worked out for the EU.
Look at how their remit has advanced, once merely responsible for local refuse collection, street lighting, road maintenance, Police, education, rate collection, now the diktat is far wider and developing all the time, hand in glove with the local socialist councillors and Trades Union agitators and local corporate interests, crapita et al - it is brilliant and executed with a precision.
Refuse became 'recycling' and now they charge for all sorts of supposedly 'extra' services and it is all total BS.
Police, were local and did protect us, now they protect the state, PCSOs, council snoopers in bins and on streets, paid informers - its all in a days work for your local council Stasi.
Education, this is where the Marxists in Unions really come to the fore and the filth of the Frankfurt School dogma is the last word in a post normal 're-education' of children.

Think, think of all the stuff your local council does and how far it sticks its nose into your business - this British paradigm was modelled on Eastern Europe - now the new DDR comes to your local areas and it grows fat, very fat.

I must protest at your use of obscene language in this , and perhaps other topics also. I refer, of course, to your use of the words "earn" or "earned". These parasites may well have been in receipt of such sums, whether they have "earned" them is another matter.

Just for the record while writing, whenever I see or hear the word "executive" I automatically think "B*llsh*tter" as in my experience the purveying of the aforesaid BS is their only ability.
