Sarkozy bluntly told Cameron: "You have lost a good opportunity to shut up." He added: "We are sick of you criticising us and telling us what to do. You say you hate the euro and now you want to interfere in our meetings".

Cameron lost a lot of political capital (and possibly the election) by reneging on the promise of a referendum. He's doing the same thing now.
I think we can draw the correct conclusion (as if we didn't know already). He's a quivering europhilic rabbit - caught in the headlights of a massive "Ice Road Truckers" type Kenworth bearing down on him, horn blaring..........too late Dave.

Merkel slaps Sarko (No you can't rescue your banks first)
So Sarko slaps Csat Iron.
It would be funny in chickens and 4 yr olds...

I can't help thinking that this was agreed in advance with the Boy since it, superficially, adds to the suggestion that Camoron is on Our side rather than the EU's!

Oh dear! A falling out between Sarkozy and Cameron, this does not bode well for the sharing of aircraft carriers does it?

It's all a pantomime. So long as Dave can look important as a figurehead of a EU-but-non-Euro block he'll be against the Euro. Due to ever greater union being written in the DNA of the project that is like trying to hold back the tide. I'm surprised more hasn't been made of excusing the problems of the Eurozone on Britain and others not being in it.

As to Sarkozy's alleged outburst, if he and Merkel want to stand at their lecturns and say the EU is at risk because the Euro is at risk they can't be all that surprised when non-Euro members seek to protect themselves from being disadvantaged in the mad rush for propping up the Euro.

Actually it is good news. If Sarko tried to put the blag on DC that using UK taxpayers' money to save the French banks would make him the 'Saviour of Europe' and very much Presidential material, then we all know that DC would fall for it hook line and sinker.

Yeah, but did Cameron swing his handbag in reply? Guess not. And why not a duel, handbags at ten paces, high heels mandatory to level the playing field.
Nothing like a good laugh on a Monday morning. PDT_Armataz_02_11
