If ever one needed an example of quite how useless is the MSM, here it is - a softball interview with the snake-oil salesman himself, and the infamous "one mistake" meme.

It really does not matter how many times you write that this was not a mistake but a deliberate fraud and that it represented a clear conflict of interest and double dealing, with Booker also pitching in, you will still get brain dead reporters giving the charlatan a platform, and newspapers willing to publish the goo.

It's always the same formula isn't it? the MSM point out one questionable deed from a litany, then proceed to mitigate or excuse or paint a picture of understandable confusion.

One famously exaggerated report
they even wedged it in the headline.

These are the crumbs of comfort; laced with venom, that the establishment occasionally throw to us plebs

albionman.Exactly right.
Geoffrey Lean is totally execrated by almost all DT readers.
His blogs induce paroxysms of rage over his blatant lies.
He keeps his job because he and Greenpeace activist Samantha Cameron(nee Sheffield) 'go back a long way' and he is the only 'environmental correspondent' Dave will listen to.
Why else would Lean say in his last but one blog that Greenpeace ought to rename one of its ships after her ?

The comments from the public are very well informed and tell Peter Stamford that he is a worse than useless jounalist who does no research before putting pen to paper. I could only find one AGW supporter in all the hostile comments. Pachauri is doing a really good job turning the public against believing the reports published by the IPCC

Pachauri was interviewed last night on BBC News' hardtalk programme.

What was self evident in the interview was that he is a crafted political animal and I'm convinced that if global warming wasn't a political hot topic, then he would be mixed up in whatever was the latest hot political topic.

Also pretty evident was the fact that he wasn't going to get a hard time from the interviewer.
