Anything I might say about this job would most certainly be taken down in evidence, and used against me ... resulting in a prolonged prison sentence. But the real offender is Camden Council. To waste money on such a fatuous appointment is criminal behaviour.

Im speechless too. Are they closing any libraries in Camden? Or cutting services to the elderly? But also complaining about 'cuts'? Unbelievable but I bet it is going on all over the country.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sustainability/ Environment or Community Engagement professional to join Camden Council’s high performing Corporate Sustainability Team. "

Who decided it was a high performing team?

The job description reads to me like only someone with ready experience within the public sector as a sustainability troll would stand a chance of getting it.

Maybe we should all apply for the job. Drafting the letter would be worth the entertainment value in itself

Sounds like something Barry Owe would be qualified for.

Two points:

1 - they are looking for someone to undertake 'evidence-based' approaches to greenery. Anyone who could actually find any valid evidence to support this abortion of human thought deserves a lot more than £45k...

2 - they are looking for someone to enforce 'behavioural change' to support a political policy. I strongly suspect that this is an illegal use of taxpayers money.

I strongly suspect...

1) They couldn't give a shit!

2) No-one will be able to make it stick! (Even though shit should!)

I've gained so much knowledge about the climate on this forum that I just might apply for the job. Then again I'm not a friend of the CE.

Just did...

I also think I am superior to everyone else because I make everyone else pay for the things I think are important. I realise that doesn't make me any different to any of your current employees but with that in mind I will fit right in.

I strongly suspect they are looking for someone with

1. Extensive experience of being called Sarah Smith gained in a dynamic real world context.

2. Several years exposure to living at 23 Acacia Avenue.

I really hope you did with that in the application! PDT_Armataz_01_37

Actually, when I read it, I thought they were trying to recruit bin men, dressing the job up with fancy verbiage.

Or are the hours too long?

Looking for an Experienced professional?

Plenty of those in and around Kings Cross.

Anyway, how does one become; an experienced sustainability officer?

The mind boggles, boggles at the amount of BS spouted and listened to, in council training weeks in Malaga and diversity away day/weeks (on the taxpayer credit card!) conferences in 5* hotels.

This isn't life in the real world is it?
Then there are the gold plated pensions - on our tab too.
