While the crowd in the Mall waved their plastic, printed-in-China flags, it is interesting to note that the royal weddlings acknowledged our real masters, flying their flag rather than that of the province in which they reside. Iain Martin puts the tawdry ceremony in perspective. We have a supreme government which specialises in hollowing out the institutions of state, robbing them of power and meaning, but leaving the facade in place.

18 year old number one son spotted the number plate issue and laughed his head off.
I rather suspect it is some royal drone or civil servant ensuring 'compliance' with some piecer of paper which states 'this box must be ticked or else'...

Do you know, I don't really care. The loyal "subjects" dutifully wave their plastic union jacks and the boy william "waves" the EU flag ... what perfect symbolism for the way we are.

And the truly awful truth is that it is!

One-by-one, as you state elsewhere, we can all try to educate the masses away from their ignorance and misunderstandings, but that still leaves a growing army of EUseful idiots with idiot-in-chief, Scumoron, exploiting all the idiots-minor! Oddly enough, though, we do seem to be winning around the globe on the AGW scam, but the politicians don't yet seem to have noticed.

Why are you posting about the Royal Wedding again when you could be posting about important matters , like what has happened to the British international haulage industry ?

Not particularly a "royalist" but I thought that the police, BBc and organisers pulled of a pretty good job ......

But the best bit was that Brown , Blair , and all the nu labour comrades (straw , falconer and other nu troughers) didn't get an invite !!!!!!!

Worth the expense just to have their faces rubbed in it in public ..... I'm still chuckling

Icing on the cake ...perhaps

It is about all they are good for ... when it actually comes to their core functions, they have lost the plot. We should be grateful?

I have seen something similar from an ecoloon who invited lorry drivers to "jugger off "

I bet those in the crowd , waving their flags which could only come from China because of the iniquitous trading conditions British businesses face , are imbued with a patriotism - which should be harnessed .

That isn't patriotism ... it is the same stupidity that cheers "Our Boys" off to war, to be slaughtered by the millions ... the same old, same old. We are jerked off by our masters, and simply roll over and wave our little flags. One day we will learn, but quite obviously the time has not come yet.

I still blame the Queen for not making a principled stand against the traitorous politicians. If it had been me, I would have put my crown and the whole monarchy on the line. Without sovereignty, our monarchy is also meaningless. She has acted in her own interest by continuing to take the money and title but not defended our nation and constitution. I know she would have been attacked for being undemocratic, but the uproar might have made a lot of people wake up.

I agree with Stuart and despite still being, at heart, a monarchist, I think that Betty has betrayed us no less than the treasonous ministers of her many governments.
Yes, she could, though flying in the face of protocol, have stood up & defended her people. If nothing else, the public would then have become aware that something was going horribly awry. It is too late now: she has become a superfluity.
Of course I wish Kate & Wills the happiest of lives together but I doubt that they will ever sit on England's throne. If Chuckles succeeds his mother then no doubt will remain.

I take much the same view. A democratic state needs a functioning head of state separate from the prime minister, as the guarantor of the constitution. The Queen has ceased to be that. In a sense, she is a bed blocker ... occupying the position of head of state without performing the function. She has become a ceremonial figure only and, as that is the case, they might as well sell the whole royalty thing to Butlins and be done with it.

We still hear people talk glibly of patriotism and loyalty, but it cuts both ways. Where is the loyalty of the Crown to the United Kingdom?

JU5T WED is not a valid UK registration, and therefore no V5 document would ever have been issued for it. It was probably illegally manufactured too

On 1st of December 2005 the DVLA changed the documentation required to buy a Number Plate. The following now applies - In order to obtain a Number Plate you will have to provide verification of your current personal details and proof of entitlement to the registration mark quoted.

At least one original document from each of the lists below is required. The combination of the documents must be sufficient to check your name, address and the entitlement.

Proof of Identity:

A driving licence whether or not issued in the United Kingdom (with or without a photograph). This is preferred because it is a secure, government-issued document showing both name and address.
A current bill issued by an electricity, gas or water supplier, a landline telephone bill or a council tax bill.
A bank or building society statement.
A passport (whether issued or not in the United Kingdom).
A national identity card issued by the Government of a state or territory other than the United Kingdom.
A debit or credit card issued by a bank or building society (the requirement for a photograph no longer applies).
A police warrant card.
An armed forces identity card.
Proof of Entitlement:

The preferred document is a Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C).
The tear - off slip (V5C/2) from V5C (Section 10).
Certificate of entitlement to a mark (V750).
Cherished transfer retention document (V778).
Vehicle licence renewal form (VI 1).
Temporary registration Certificate (V379).
Authorisation Certificate (V948) with official DVLA stamp.
A letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including a lease/hire company). The letter must quote the document reference number from the V5C. Quoting the vehicle identification number is no longer acceptable.

And who was going to be the one of all those brave constables that was going to nick him?

Same old story really ... one rule for them, and one for us.

http://www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/articl ... erine-2205

I hadn't picked up that the "UK" on the EU marking had been replaced by "♥U" ... that is also illegal but, positioned under the ring of stars, it could have a double meaning.
