I wonder how many people cannot access their domestic electricity meter? So why all this fuss? Ulterior motives most probably, came the answer?
Some wonderful stuff in above Mail article:-
Quote:
The equipment will end the scourge of estimated bills and do away with the need for an army of meter readers and customer call-centre staff
How so?.........But, what a convincing justification, I'm jumping of joy!
Quote:
We expect any costs to energy suppliers to be recovered through higher energy prices, although any benefits to suppliers and networks will also be passed on to consumers.
Of course the
benefits will be passed on, probably when
we've passed on.

Climate Change and Energy Secretary Chris Huhne said: 'Smart meters are a key part of giving us more control over how we use energy at home and at work, helping us to cut out waste and save money.'
Er..... no they are not, they are a boon for the energy suppliers and government number crunchers and ultimately will give governmental control over an individual's electricity connectivity - what a toy that is!
Benefits?......................Ha Ha Ha.
