Iran must be going like the clappers to develop their nukes - egged on by all the Middle East regimes that (providing they can contain the current unrest) fervently hope they aren't next in line for western interference and pray for the protective umbrella to be afforded by Iran.

There is only one scenario I can forsee and that will be a pre-emptive strike by Isreal to slow or stop the Iranian nuke plans. Maybe Isreal are 'hoping' for sufficient turmoil within those unstable regimes to give them the leeway they require for such a strike with little/no consequence?

If this is the case then we may be closer to the Isreali response than we realise.
