"Far from being 'feral beasts', to use Tony Blair's phrase, the British media are overly respectful of authority. Newspapers and broadcasters tend to be suspicious of those who do not play the game ... ". So writes John Kampfner in the Independent about Assange and the latest Wikileaks coup.

I don't know any journalists but I honestly believe that if you asked any journalist about blogs they'd tell you that all they are doing is simply reheating the 'real news' that the mainstream media provides.

Or does anyone think that they do realise how ineffectual, bland and increasingly irrelevant they are?

The point about being ineffectual is that you tend to be the last to know.

No wonder SOCA wants to be able to shut down any 'subversive' websites.

Maybe i have got this whole Wikileaks thing wrong BUT!!!!
1The information was stolen
2 Wikileaks must have known that it was stolen
3 Wikileaks is profiting from its release of this information.

Now if I worked for a BMW importer and stole 500 BMW cars and gave them to a friend, he then got rid of them and profited by the transaction, I would think that under British law I would be charged with the theft, and my friend would be charged with reciving stolen goods, which is the more serious of the 2 crimes, but I guess if you are wanted for rape in Sweden and you have a global anti American hate movement (change hate, it should be jealousy ) you will die a hero, there are some extremely rich unprincipled people that have been offended by these leaks, just real happy that I don't know these bastard's from Wikileaks, it could be dangerous.
