This seems like Groundhog day to me. Did I not read something of this a week or two back about how "they" would find out how happy "we" really were and then publish a bloody sunshine table or something?

WHY DON'T THE BUGGAS ASK US JUST EXACTLY WHAT IS UPSETTING US AND THEN PUBLISH A BLOODY LEAGUE TABLE OF WHAT NEEDS CHANGING IN THIS NOW SHITE COUNTRY?

National well-being test ... didn't they use to be called elections (real ones, that elected leaders with responsibility)? Something tells me Cameron is soon enough going to get familiar with our 'well being', at least for the few short moments before he is thrown onto the tumbrel with the rest of 'em*

*metaphorically speaking, of course. (Not changing my opinion yet).

I propose we stick a cattle probe up his arse; THAT will imptove the wellbening of the nation ... although maybe not his.

This man is beyond "propellor head", he either considers the populus stupid, or is so himself. I will read The Times or Guardian or Telegraph tomorrow, and report upon the public derision heaped upon him by the establishment.

Is this simply so that Cameron can, after quoting Kennedy, quote the Prime Minister of the time and tell us we've never had it so good?

The government will set the index of happiness and manipulate the figures to show that we are happier than we think. Eventually of course it will just be a matter of adding enough of the appropriate mind altering drugs to our water and food to make us as happy as the government wishes us to be. If the Regulatory Bodies Reform Bill, or whatever it's called, goes through we can all be made happy at the stroke of an official pen.

Happy Days really will be here again, and we'll laugh all the way to the next bank bail-out.

OK Competition time: What would increase you well-being JOY INDEX?

I keep on thinking of a certain mediaeval English monarch. Horrible thought PDT_Armataz_01_30

There must be more "civilized" opinions. But I gotta admit, there's nothing like a good defenestration to improve the well being of all (except for the defenestrated of course :) )

Author's note: Actually, all the defenestratees survived. They fell upon a dung heap apparently. It did start the 30 years war, though. The bastards should have died.

Wot do we want?

Defenestration!

When do we want it?

Now!

I can just see the screaming mobs being ignored by the BBC. I am in a PDT_Armataz_01_35 mood tonight.

It must be catching 'cos I'm in the same bloody mood. And if your very reasonable instant defenestration request *is* ignored by the BBC my complaining email will be on its way tomorrow. (Or whenever I rise.) I presume you have already informed BiasedBBC about the Broadcasting House Bastards ignoring you? PDT_Armataz_01_42

Quoted from the Press Association:
Quote:
Mr Cameron will say his goal in politics is to "make a better life for people" and insist that the Government can help improve wellbeing.

That's easy, & should be done immediately: (i) leave the EU, & (ii) restore the RN's carriers & fixed-wing naval aviation - & also maritime surveillance.
Once that's done, my wellbeing will feel immensely & instantly improved!

Otherwise, it's time for a new PM - who will do the above. And now!

Yes, maybe he could ask us how we feel our democratic institutions reflect the nation's mood. Ask us how happy we are being ruled by Brussels? Then again if we said we are not happy with our democratic institutions, he would probably want to change our voting methods.

Oh the irony - Cameuron is quoted as beginning : "The contention is that just as we can create the climate for business to thrive - by cutting taxes, slashing red tape and so on - ..."

Er, what tax cuts, what slashed red tape ('one in - one out' won't reduce red tape, even if it occurs)? Oh for a 10:10 red button!

Don't all be so churlish. :)

My wellbeing index will increase immeasurably with the announcement of a belated referendum on Lisbon, or one on withdrawing from the EU.

Oh, hold on, I've just realised the probability of that happening...
