Thanks to Gordon Brown's profligacy, says Charles Moore, the public is about to have to pay more tax for fewer services. But the cost of green policies, he says, does not feature much in the latest debates, because most of it comes not through taxes, but through electricity bills.

Yes this part of his piece is good, but he started off saying the government is being honest over deficit reduction and that the outside world approves of its actions. I don't think our government is being honest about a single thing.

They are patently not being honest, if they were they would insist that the "renewables" tax would appear on every energy bill as a figure. Then people would realise that they are being robbed, at present they don't.

Whatever you think about the cuts and the government's honesty, this is a welcome article. Concealing the cost of "renewables" in bills is deceit designed to cover up the unacceptable. The more attention focussed on this particular wheeze, the better.

I'm just a tad weary that it has taken so long for the clever-dicks to wake up!

I attempt wherever possible to keep political affiliations out of my posts although I make sure that my views are put across and, in the main, they coincide with the sensible opinions stated here on this site. However, on this issue, I must make it known to all who read and understand what is happening (that's everybody here, otherwise you wouldn't be here!) with energy policy and 'green' stuff that there is only one political party which gets it - that is the BNP, of which I am a member of two years.
Visit the website of each party and see the bilge and idiocy that the Oxford PPEers have put together then visit the BNP's website. The contrast could not be greater.
