We've had a truly crap summer. I've never known the grass grow so little, its been so cold. We've had the central heating on three times this week already, and now we get the above in The Daily Mail.

Can't say I'm too surprised, I've been feeling the cold all week. Even when it's sunny there's been a chill in the air and if you step into a shadow, oh boy do you feel it.

No indian summer this time suppose. I've heard the been were talking one up a few weeks back but it's not materialised. Again.

Cheer up Dr North: The words 'Daily Mail' and 'forecasters' strongly suggest that bad weather is still some time away.

The problem is that there so many egos, thousands of jobs and trillions of dollars invested in the global warming scam that its supporters cannot abandon it now.

At the very least, there has to be another gravy train for them to leap sideways onto, but even that won't be easy, because global warming is the 'perfect storm'.

When else have politicians had the opportunity to pose as noble, caring stewards of the planet, while increasing centralised control, raising taxes, and telling everyone else what to do, from their position on the moral high ground?

Ah yes, that's why 'Global Warming' is being subtly rebranded:

Mention of grass cutting; the South East has had not a lot of rain overall, hence brown grass and bald patches - not much cutting. In fact, since May I think I've been out half a dozen times, whereas in previous years, once a fortnight was regular - more rain/Sun. Certainly had some hot weeks this year, but in contrast floods in the North. But colder it will be getting, that much I've been saying all year. I'm looked at as being mad of course. Ocean currents have cooled, and their effect is long term not short. The Southern hemisphere has experienced a very cold Winter - our turn now? - and more to follow. Mankind is often flabbergasted by Nature when it flips a new coin, and then he'll use that to turn another advantage. In the meantime, more deaths from hypothermia on the way.
The Hierarchy Enslaving You won't give a damn.

The Mail has picked up the 'global climate disruption' phrase too

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldne ... ption.html

The climate has ALWAYS changed. So how do we tell natural change from anthropogenic disruption?

Is it only disruptive change that is anthropogenic? I seem to remember there were some quite sudden changes a few centuries back. I bet they felt disruptive at the time.

How can you have mitigation policies when 'disruption' could apply in any direction? Is 'disruption' even predictable?

The world should laugh at these charlatans.

P.S. A commenter at watts up with that notes that CO2 was only supposed to produce long term warming. So what does the "theory" claim has been responsible for these (inherently unpredictable?) "disruptions"? Indeed, what were they?

A change too far. Once you are into TLAs, you've blown it.

The continued rebranding of global warming as climate change as GCD is well characterized on a US climate blog thus:

Quote:
“As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.”
- Proverbs 26.11

A TLA makes it sound like a chemical. Now we're not fighting weather, we're fighting toxic GCD!
