The Met Office, we are led to believe , is telling us that global warming evidence is "unmistakable". This, of course, is the organisation which famously told us to prepare for a barbeque summer and the highway authorities that they needed no extra salt for the winter.

After the whitewashed scandals of recent months it is breathtaking this bunch of AGW whores are still given any credibility.

After trying (and failing) to argue with warmists that you, Richard, were correct over Amazongate, I have come to the conclusion I'd be more productive trying to convert Fundamentalist Muslims to Christianity than engage any of these idealogues in any kind of sensible discussion.

Do they not understand that they are destroying their own credibility?

C'mon, oldrightie!

Whores aren't as bad as all that!

If the Government is serious about cutting unnecessary expenditure, the MET office wouldn't be a bad place to start. There must be someone who could act as successor to Bill Froggatt and his seaweed.

Bully Boy Bob and his ilk may get hot under the collar about the pocket change one Big Oil company scatters to a few sceptical think tanks. Meanwhile serious tax payers' money is being shovelled into the warmist agit-prop organisations.

It would have been nice if they could have got the forecast for this week right; on Sunday, they promised us a dry five days, and I made farming/harvest plans accordingly.
Monday and Tuesday, however, were wet.

On and on the climate change argument goes, sometimes even ignoring AGW because that is already “proven”. If it’s not proven then the sooner it can be unproven, this country can get down to a wonderful economic future exploiting the green stupidity of most of the Western World. With our less than 2% “contribution” to CO2 we should be well placed to fire up new coal-fired power stations and let the rest of world opinion go hang! The only problem is that UKIP would need to be in government first.

Morrisons supermarket boasts on its walls that it saves, every day, 360 tons of ’carbon’ equal to 40 return flights to NY. Pathetic goody goody stuff to appeal to shoppers who are not actually as silly as the Brightonians who put Caroline Lucas into Parliament. By the time comes that ’deniers’ win the day, there should be a well publicised list of all such PC stupidities uttered to hang round the necks of big business and the poilitical elite who so nearly led us into self-destruction.
Just a silly season comment before I go back to sea!

Charlie.......Why should they worry, the bonus money is still rolling in...

Monday, July 26, 2010, 11:00

Bonus payouts of around £1.4million for staff at Met Office....

Gotta love this quote.....Mr Jones said: "Met Office staff are eligible to receive performance-related pay based on achievements against specific targets agreed by the Met Office Board"......would that be based on getting it wrong say 50 % of the time, ie; it might be sunny or it might not....well done son...here's yr bonus.

Unsurprisingly, scientists have produced their new report to show ‘unequivocal evidence’ of global warming (Report 29 July) during the summer warmth rather than at the time of the coldest winter we recently endured for the last thirty years.

Just read the linked piece on Hendry. I am not as impressed as Professor Stott seems to be. Whilst he acknowledges the fact that we are going to be short of energy and mentions nuclear power it is not convincing in any way, he says it but does not mean a word of it. He is a fully signed up member of the Cameron AGW clique. Let's face it, if you do not follow the EU/AGW playbook you will not get a good job in this administration.
