It is a common complaint, voiced by an increasingly disenfranchised electorate, that all the main political parties are the same. While denying it on the one hand, however, we find that the two main parties are only too anxious to agree with that proposition - at least as far as "green" issues are concerned.

What is the difference between a group of universal politicians and a single party state?

Can Robert Mugabe and Gordon Cameron/David Brown, for example, run things based on similar principles but a slightly different method of application?

What we have, effectively, is precisely that - a single party state ... unless, of course, the bulk of the nation decides otherwise and votes for a minority party.

Not forgetting the career path of the politicians! They go to University and study an arts degree or something not quite useful - PPE as an example, although Law is as close to useful as they will come. They then join the Party as a 'research officer' and, once inside the bubble, neither they nor their minds dare venture outside for there are many dangers lurking in the real world.

Thus from history/mythology (whichever takes your bent) we see the takeover principle of Hermes Trismegitus - the Trinity becomes a Unity......a theory that was scoffed at in earlier replies from some members of the board.

History teaches a lot of things but science teaches us more.....there is nothing new under the sun (cycles).

I read of the proposed one-party state at the same time I read the story about a shopkeeper being fitted with an electronic tag for selling a goldfish to a 14 year old.
And to think - there was once a time when I thought the conspiracy nuts were, indeed, nuts.

What is more, it was a entrapment operation - trading standards hired the boy to make the purchase so that they could then prosecute.

Strange, I was always under the impression that the use of "agents provocateur" was illegal in this "free" Country, it was something bent foreign governments did. How low we have sunk. We need a complete clearout of both national (joke) and local politicians. It is obvious that all the calls for "localism" if ever put in place would just result in more of the same.

Sorry to have to repeat it but "1984" is NOT an instruction manual it was written as a warning! PDT_Armataz_01_36
