One of the penalties of being exiled to Bradford, 200 miles from the metropolis, is that for what is a Londoner an evening with an early return home becomes a major expedition – requiring forward planning, considerable expense and much exhaustion, not least because one tends to cram in as much as possible into the day to make the trip worth it.

Thus, the Frontline club talk yesterday, which started at 7 pm began for me at 6.30 in the morning and ended up, after a grueling 400-mile round trip, with me falling into my pit at 5 am this morning, having driven through atrocious weather, a barrage of road works and a thicket of speed cameras, the verdict from which has yet to be delivered.

Well done, I wonder if those who appreciate you selfless work could write you in for an OBE.

You didn't even tell me you were going yer bugger!

Don't hide your light under a bushel, not even a George Bushel.

About time your labours got some serious attention in Metroland - beyond the corridors of the powdered.

Is this Chilcot fiasco and enquiry or an inquiry. The tendency is to use enquire when asking for information, and inquire when conducting an investigation.

The BBC seem to think it is an enquiry

Let me reassure the boss's devoted fans: there are photos of him performing at that rather dubious club. They will be sent to him ASAP.

Well you scared Jackson off for starters,...with military leaders showing that amount of gumption no wonder we are in the state we are.You dominated procedings, but it appears you are over most poeple heads who seemed to be there just to vent the antiwar rhetoric,a different agenda entirely to your own..... at times you appeared to be at the wrong venue.

Yes, that seemed to be the case. The most intense applause was reserved for members of the audience who made anti war speeches.

Thanks for the write up Richard. You can grab the archive of the video here:

http://www.viddler.com/explore/frontlin ... ideos/317/

Viddler allows customised embedding to fit the width/height etc. you want for your blog. We normally put up an edited highlights version too. That should be coming soon and will sit with all the other Frontline Club videos:

All the best

Having watched the video it seems that your points about the media were completely justified by the inability of most of the public to see the issue as anything other than a should we / shouldn't we have debate on the war. The fact that the prosecution of the the invasion and occupation and its relative success has a huge impact on civilian casualties from all causes seems to have completely escaped the public consciousness. Once the democratically elected British did take us to war (and won the following General Election) the issue then becomes one of how well did we prosecute the war and the occupation. Brushing this under the carpet with 'well if we hadn't gone to war' just ensures that no valuable lessons are learned by anyone
