Hello there. I just returned from 2 weeks in jolly old England last evening. It was a good vacation but you really didn't have to prove how much it rains.

Now to the article.....this seems to be as "accurate" as any of the other rags on either side of the pond when speaking about guns.

Two points right up front:
1) The .44 magnum, despite what Dirty Harry says, is NOT the most powerful handgun in the world.
2) No bullet from a handgun, any handguy, is going to "...blown off his chair and thrown half way across the room..." Newton will not be denied and any shot capable of that would have also blown the shooter half way across the room.

Now this may seem trivial, but these kinds of "mistakes" (or lies?) are generally inserted in stories to further some agenda. Wonder what the agenda is here.

That said, it sounds like Mr. Tillsbury is a lucky man.

As a firearm owner, I am puzzled by anyone, to say nothing of a law enforcement officer, not being able to tell real ammunition from blanks. Perhaps there is an affirmative-action program for the visually-impaired.

When I think of old bill and firearms I shudder. During my shooting days at Bisley, one could tell the muppets in the police shooting teams a mile off.
Sunglasses, huffing and puffing to oxygenate themselves before they took a shot, wiggling their arses to find the right shooting stance and all that shit.

I also remember taking on a police marksman team in a friendly competition when I was a wee lad in the ATC. They were not very happy getting beaten by 15 and 16 year olds, slamming the range door behind them as they left.

I am sure there are some decent Old bill that Shoot, but trying to find them amoungst all the wannabies is difficult.

I imagine the EU police service expects to be armed.
