As part of its programming in the run-up to the European elections, BBC4 News at 7 o'clock this evening will have a short debate between three bloggers. EUReferendum is one of the blogs taking part. The debate, I am told, will be shown about 7 minutes into the programme but these approximations are never accurate.

Is there any chance of someone putting it up on Youtube because I doubt very much if I'll be able to watch it from Norway.

Do you not get BBC World in Norway? Because their news programmes stay on the internet for a while. Don't know how long though.

Not having a Wii nor a 3G phone, I have missed the broadcast. I hope it went well and that there might be more. Thanks for the 'heads up'.

Sounds like the Beeb is trying to make some more money somewhere. We shall be back on Monday after the results come through. I shall put up a note in time. That might be more fun.

I note that
(a) Shiraz Socialist got more goes
(b) the presenter interrupted you virtually every time you spoke but not so the others.

Not sure about that. You may be right. Actually, I didn't think it was partiuclarly well structured. If I were watching that I'd probably shrug my shoulders and say "well, whatever". Whoever said that BBC World was better than domestic TV was wrong.

Just watched it on the internet, Helen did well although the interviewer got away with statements that we would not dare offer. The beeboid was stupid to say that MEP have power, they are a smokescreen trying to show how democratic the EU is, it ain't! PDT_Armataz_01_19

Not at all, what you said was reasoned and to the point, I put it down to their usual bias and that is the problem on EU matters, discussion is often stifled. Our masters and even the press just don't hack it?

Well done, Helen! I've just seen the session on BBC iplayer. Nice point about the EU Parliament not actually legislating.

Hopefully we can see you again sometime.

I think the programme is on iplayer until around 7.00pm BST tonight. The bloggers chat from 12 minutes in.

I thank you for the link. The host seemed fair enough to me. In my opinion, the host functioned to orchestrate entertainment value from the bloggers, not to elicit information from them. I only paid any attention to Helen S. who provided correct responses to the points arising. However these were not bullet-proof, providing an occassional target for the host. Of course, if the responses were bullet-proof, the host would have ignored them.

Indeed, how else could a host function, as they probably have less knowledge on almost any subject than the person(s) they are questioning. It appears at times that the Drive-By Media is for entertainment and the unpaid commentariat provide the information.
